A case of insulinoma confused with dumping syndrome after total gastrectomy

We present the case of a 70-year-old female patient with persistent hypoglycemia after total gastrectomy due to gastrointestinal stromal tumors. She was thought have late dumping syndrome but diagnosed insulinoma further examination. Dumping is mainly seen stomach or esophageal surgery. It divided into early and syndrome. Late initially manifested by an exaggerated insulin response reactive glucagon-like peptide-1 release. Diagnosis based on clinical findings. Treatment consists reducing carbohydrate intake not ingesting solid liquid foods together. In cases where diet alone sufficient, acarbose, α-glucosidase inhibitor that slows digestion carbohydrates, may be beneficial for dumping. Octreotide can used in resistant cases. However, diagnosis insulinoma, which leads similar presentation cases, should kept mind. Our who showed signs gastrectomy, treatment-resistant basis investigations. The patient’s symptoms resolved surgery insulinoma.
